1988 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

While driving Jeep on a small highway along the coast, I noticed the headlights seemed very dim (I could barely see), then when I tried to use wipers they very slowly crawled across windshield and then stopped. Then I looked at the battery gauge and it was extremely low and the oil pressure gauge was extremely high. Jeep began feeling like it was losing power. I thought it was going to turn off on me while driving. I made it to the next town and pulled into the first parking lot I saw. I turned the jeep off and it would not turn back on. It still has not. If only battery issue, my guess would be alternator failure. But what would cause all of those symptoms including oil pressure gauge reading super high? I did immediately check oil and it was perfectly normal. Help?!
