1987 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I have a 87 jeep cherokee . Well i am havin problem with gettin the tranny to shift down when accelerating. it wont shift down at all and it has plenty of fluild.
What could be the problem or the cause. this is my daily driver.

Replace the Throttle position sensor, I've had good luck with that solving this problem.
