Engine Performance problem
1986 Jeep Cherokee 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual

Hi, my jeep will start and Idle most of the time, but when you give it gas and then let off of the gas it dies. We have checked the filter, the carb seems to be getting plenty of gas. HELP!!

I know the 87's are fuel injected, but I can't remember if the 86 has a carb. Let me know. Also, has the check engine light come on? If you keep your foot on the gas, does it run ok. Also, have you checked for vacuum leaks?
