Do you check the PS fluid when the car is hot or cold. The dipstick has 3 marks ...COLD....HOT...FULL.

Which is the proper fill level? Steering is very hard when the car is cold, seems to get easier when the car warms up.

Hi there,

You can check cold or hot, just make sure that the oil is at the level indicated, remember its the power steering oil temp not the engine oil temp, also just make sure that the drive belt for the pump is in good condition and tight.
