car smokes really bad after starting it only when it has been sitting for at least 8 hrs. The car really doesn't seem to burn oil other than the first stat up in the am. I've been told that you can get a "rubber Umbrella" to install over lifters to keep oil from leaking down into the piston. Does this make sense, if so any idea who sells them and how difficult it is to install them?

Hi
what color is smoke? Then valve stem seals is what they are reffering to and on your car it is a big job. Better left to aTechnician. Using oil ? loss of coolant?
Let me know
