Turning key to start sometimes works fine; sometimes no response. Repeating several times sometimes works. Problem getting worse. Please list items to check and in order of probability.

check battery .. battery connections .. battery to starter wiring .. starter wiring and connections .. check starter motor .. check ignition switch and wiring
