Where is thermostat located on 1989 5.3 litre v-12.Looks like housing on front of left bank

There are two thermostats. They are supposed to be at the front of each bank. Can't find them. Are they high? Low? Hidden? Help !

there are two, the one listed above and one other located under the passenger side breather (if i'm reading my Haynes manual's diagram correctly
