2005 Jaguar XJ8 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i am having a problem getting the e-brake cable back onto that little piece that pivots back and forth on that wheel with the teeth..what is the best way to re-connect this back together on the rear caliper

Need to back off on adjustment to get some slack so you can get it back on
