2003 Jaguar XJ8 Car door latch

The car door latch was moved out of position and the door will only close (completely) if you slowly push the door firm against the car body...if you push (slam) and walk away the door bounces and open about an inch. I have tried to reposition by mirroring the drivers door latch and this eems to work for 5 or 6 closings and then goes back to the same problem.

reposition and make sure bolts are tight .. have a body repair tech look at the vehicle
