Engine Cooling problem
2002 Jaguar XJ8 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I previously owned a Jag XJ6 (In-line 6 cylinders) and now I have an XJ8 (V-8 engine). Both of these cars consumes an unusual amount of engine oil. Is it normal that Jaguar engines consume large quantities of oil?

Hi there,

This should not be the case, what oil are you using, if a synth, switch to a mineral based oil and see how you get on, Jags if anything do suffer from some external leaks, but this will be very evident on the drive where you park the car.
