CONNECTING ROD INSTALLATION
NOTE:Limited information is available from manufacturer.
Connecting rods MUST BE fitted to cylinder position marked on rod and rod cap. Each connecting rod has a thin and thick flange. The thin flange side is also marked with a dimple adjacent to the bearing. Connecting rods are installed on their respective journals with thin flanges (dimples) facing each other.
Dummy Main Bearing Caps (JD 220) should be used to hold crankshaft and main bearing in place while installing pistons and connecting rod assemblies. Connecting rod bolts MUST BE replaced after each use. Tighten connecting rod bolts to proper specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. Center-punch bolts after torque sequence is complete.
