2000 Jaguar XJ8 Fan continues to run after engine is shut

Engine Cooling problem
2000 Jaguar XJ8 V8 36000 miles

Car runs normally. Suddenly, the radiator fan continue to run a few minutes after engine is shut. each time they run longer. I'm afraid battery will drain.
what/where to check/replace?
