1999 Jaguar XJ8 shocks & lower control arm

I have been told that the front shocks need replacing on my xj8l jaguar. How hard is it to replace these, they look juts like reguar shocks. Also the righ front lower control arm needs replacing, is something that an individual can replace by themselves and wht tools are needed.

no special tools required for removing damper !
