The head light switch is faulty. In the middle position the dip light is on, when I go to main beam the lights go out. If I select the 3rd position which is auto lights. Every thing works correctly.
Is the switch faulty and if so how do I remove it to fit a new one

thanks for the answeri

COMBINATION SWITCH
Removal & Installation (XJ8 & XJR)
Remove steering wheel and air bag. See STEERING WHEEL & AIR BAG. Remove 4 screws and remove driver's side undercover panel.
Release headlight/turn signal switch and wiper/washer switch wiring harness connectors from bracket and disconnect connectors. Cut tie straps, remove key transponder from wiring harness, and disconnect connector.
Disconnect cancellation module wiring harness connector. Remove 4 bolts attaching combination switch/cancellation module to steering column. Remove steering column switch assembly for access.
Remove headlight/turn signal switch from switch assembly. Release wiper/washer switch from switch assembly (soldered connections do not allow the removal of switch).
Remove cancellation module from mounting bracket. Remove wiper/washer switch, bracket, and audible warning speaker assembly from column. To install, reverse removal procedure.
