DRAINING & REFILLING
NOTE:Manufacturer does not recommended draining W5A580 and ZF 5HP 24 transmissions.

Hydra-Matic 4L80-E & ZF 4HP 24E
With transmission at operating temperature, remove drain plug. Loosen filler tube flange, and remove filler tube. Remove oil pan bolts, and tap on pan to break seal loose. Remove oil screen. Clean or replace as necessary.
Clean oil pan. Reinstall filter screen, oil pan, drain plug and filler tube. Tighten oil pan bolts, drain plug and filler tube flange to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS. Fill transmission with fluid through filler tube. Check HOT fluid after a road test.
