1997 Jaguar XJ6 Security shut down

The alarm has shut my car down and unlocking and locking it back does not work. I don't know if I'm looking at replacing the security module, or how much that is, or if there is a better way to by pass the security so i can at least get it started to get it to a mechanic.

the vehicle will have to be plugged into a diagnostic computer to locate the cause of the fault
