1996 Jaguar XJ6 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 150000 miles

I have installed a new battery and soon as I hooked up the terminals, the security system sounded and I do not have the maunel to reset it or turn it off. How do I reset the security system. I think the door key plays a part. I just got this car 4 months ago from my nephew who went overseas in the military and know nothing about jaguars. What can I do?

You will have to call the dealer with the VIN. # and have them locate the reset code.
