How can I adjust the idle on my 1996 Jaguar XJ6

Where the throttle cable meets the throttle body, you shoud see a screw, simply tighten the screw to increase idle.

If your sure of that try tightening up the throttle cable. I have yet to see a vehicle without a idle adjust screw of some sort.

If have looked and looked, no idle screw. I need to slow down the idle so tighting the throtel cable won't work. Any other suggestions?

Try cleaning out your throttle body, is the throttle as loose as its gonna get? If so thats what the idle is supposed to be.

The trottle body is brand new and the cable is loose. I need to slow my idle down

HOW HIGH IS IT IDLING? Check for rubber plugs on the throttle body the screw may be hidden. Also check for vacuum leaks

The is currently at 1400 RPMs, the throttle body is new. It doesen't have any plugs.

When the car is warm does the idle go down any?
