My fan went out on me three days ago I thought it might be a fuse or relay that wasn't the problem well I think so, so I ran ground from fan harness to engine block and fan came on but one problem how would it be regulated to come on or off?

ELECTRIC COOLING FANS
The electric cooling fans are driven through the fan control relay module in a series circuit (low speed) or in a parallel circuit (high speed) depending on the need for engine cooling. The fan control relay module (Green case) is located in the left front fender adjacent to the charcoal canister. Access to the module is through the fog light access panel.
COMPONENT TESTS
TWIN THERMAL SWITCH
The twin thermal switch is located at the lower left side of the radiator.
