Heater problem
1995 Jaguar XJ6 Engine Size unknown Two Wheel Drive Automatic 140000 miles

I can only get cold air through my heater even when set to max. Local jag dealer said common problem was the heater water pump. I replaced at considerable expense but still no warm air using a length of pipe I can hear water running trough this pump and the water heater valve so presume the matrix is clear. Temp of car on the gauge is normal any suggestions would be appreciated

Try looking at the heater valve under the inlet pipes next to bulk head. Diconnect the vacuum pipe and set it manually til you can replace it

It sounds like the "Servo Motor-Cool Air By-Pass" is not working which has a common failure in this car, here is the location of the servo motor so you can swap it out which should fix the problem. Also please go over this video as well.
