1991 Jaguar XJ6 Boot lock will not turn

When i put the key in the barrel i t does not turn the boot opens and closes no problem but i cant lock it. Do i need a new barrel or is this a common problem?

Also my aerial doesn't come down when i switch the radio off - it has a new wharfdale cd player which was in there when i bought it - could it be the way this was in stalled?

Check the linkage rod from the key barrel to the latch. It's probably loose or missing.
Your antenna is probably not connected correctly to the aftermarket radio.
