after a short run , engine is hot and water is evacuated from header tank overflow leaving it dry.
can you help.

First suspect would be the thermostat.
I is the fan running, check relay or fuse.
With engine warm, and coolant tank full, do you see bubbles coming up in the tank? If yes, it could be a head gasket. If this problem has been going on for quite some time, possibly plugged radiator.
