2002 Jaguar X-Type 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 68,XXX miles

I was driving along and came to a stop, when I went to accelerate my car wouldn't go over 10 mph. The check engine light did not come on. Any Idea what the problem could be??? The car starts up fine, It doesnt idle roughly nor does it die when press the gas. It simply wont go over 10 mph. Help please! Thanx!
