2001 Jaguar Vanden Plas Coolant Hose

I just had my car serviced with a new water pump, thermostate and coolant flush; I drove it up a hill for about 2 mile climb and the hose to the radiator came off and steam came out.

Why would this happen?

Hi there,

I would be thinking that the mechanic has not tightened the hose clam when he has done this job, he certainly did not do a system pressure test, which should be done after any cooling system repair, this would have picked up the loose hose, I just hop that there has been no engine damage done, as this can easily cause a head gasket problem.
