2004 Jaguar S-Type front left turn signal

The "front left turn signal out" message has appeared on the dashboard. I have replaced the bilb twice. After working for about a week the bulb goes out again with the same message. The filaments do not appear to be broken. The guy at the auto parts store said the bulbs could be broken in the base. What should I do next?

Check the lights circuits for short.
