Low bean front headlights point downward and I have to use the high beams to get by. I recently bought the car with 43,000 miles.

You can adjust the lights with a screw driver to aim them up higher. In certain instances, if you have HID, the motor may fail in the lowered postion and requires headlamp replacement. But that shouldn't happen to both of them at the same time.
