I had an overheating issue, we have replaced the thermostat, coolant reservoir, upper radiator hose. Doesn't overheat but temp flucuates now and the cooling fan runs a long time after the engine is shut off, which it didn't do before.

Is this something I can check or do I have to take it to a repair shop?

Take it to the repair shop-this is not a DIY thing. It's beyond your control.
