Removal & Installation (S-Type)
Turn ignition off. Remove gas cap. Remove bottom rear seat cushion. Vehicle has 2 fuel pumps located inside fuel tank. One pump is located on left side of fuel tank, the other fuel pump is located on right side of fuel tank. Remove either left or right fuel pump access cover located under rear seat cushion.
Disconnect electrical connector and fuel lines from pump assembly. Using Sending Unit Wrench (J310-169), remove sending unit/fuel pump lock ring. Remove sending unit/fuel pump assembly from fuel tank. To install, reverse removal procedure. Tighten sending unit/fuel pump lock ring to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
