There is no sort of power or light in the car, only the door light and it is dim. The remote key does not work, but checked the battery this afternoon at Autozone and apparently it is 86% charged. The store retailer at the place recommended to replace the starter, but is it really the starter or is there an electrical issue. it could be the fuse box. I do not want to pay $200.00 for no reason and need my car to get back on its wheel ASAP.

The clue is the dim light. That tells us right there that it is not a starter issue.

Follow the smaller battery positive wire to the under-hood fuse box and be sure that connection is clean and tight. That is the most common cause of the symptom you described. For older cars, also follow the smaller battery negative wire to the body and be sure that connection is not rusty.
