I have replaced filled fluids, flushed heater coil, and I still do not have heat. What do I do next?

No heat when outside temperatures are really cold. When the engine warms up I do get heat if I really step on the gas. Sometimes when I let my foot off it goes back to cold air. I changed thermostat and coolant. No help.

The two small hoses going into the heater core at the firewall when the engine is at operating temp. Are they both getting too hot to hold?If one is but the other isn't the flow in the heater core is restricted. Do you know if coolant stop leak has ever been used in the radiator?

Are both getting too hot to hold? The water pump is a Kong shot if the pump wasn't circulating enough coolant I would think you would be having overheating issues.

Not flushed. Only drained and refilled. Temp not going all the way up now. Only halfway. I thought that was due to the ice cold temps outside but not that its warmed up a little outside, engine temp not going up to normal. Ugh!
Thanks for your help

That's to check if a thermostat isn't opening sounds like the thermostat is allowing flow when it shouldn't. Like a bad seal or partially stuck open.

It could be a couple things. First, with the engine hot and the heat on, feel both heater core hoses. Both should be hot. If only one is hot, flush the heater core. If both are hot, check the blend door. Chances are it is stuck.

Hi, I realize this is an old question, but I have a similar problem. What is the next step if both hoses for the heater core are cold? The hose from the radiator to the manifold is hot.

Those are all indications of a leak in the cooling system. Have you looked for a leak?
