1986 Isuzu Trooper grinding sound from the trany

so when i start my car up you can hear a grinding sound from the middle of the car. when i put my foot down on the clutch it starts to whistle and continue sound like something is rubbing??

Hi there,

you may have a problem with the ring gear or Bendix on the starter and the noise with the clutch may be the thrust bearing, a mechanic should be able to confirm this if they have a listen.
