My brakelights only work when my headlights are off. But the lights on my console and radio go dim when I press my brakes. At night, when I have my headlights on, my rear brakelights dont' work, only my top brakelight on the door. The mechanic told me that my ground wires and bulb are fine and that it's electrical. Any suggestions?

You need to have you headlight switch and turn signal switch checked for internal problems. If you want to try this let me know and I will get diagram and test procedures and do my best to walk you through it. Let me know Thanks.

Hey quick question do you have trailer connector on this car? If you do it may be bad you need to check it for any bar or cut or broken wires. As for the wiring it all goes through the combination turn switch then is sent to were it needs to go. So with that if everything is good with the trailer connector if is has it that you have a bad combination switch.

I do not have a trailier connector on my car. My turn signal and headlights work fine. It's jsut that when I press on my brakes, if my headlights are off (during the day) my brake lights work. If my headlights are on (during the night) my brake lights do not work in my tail lights. However, they do work in my back window.

Yes I know that but all the power and circuits run through that turnsignal comb switch so it is affecting you brake lights.
