2002 Isuzu Rodeo Question spark plug removal

We are trying to replace the spark plugs and are having a hard time removing the rubber boot to get to the spark plugs. They seem to be stuck.

Does it take a special tool. One came out with no problem, but the second one we ripped.

Hope you can help me as we can not get out local dealer to get back with us

a spark plug boot removal tool will definitely help you out, they look like pic below..
