I changed the spark plugs on my rodeo. While taking them out I wrote down the firering order, it was 1423. In the hanes manual it said the order was 1342. When I put it back together I put it back the way it was 1423. It ran ok for about 3 days, then I started to run rough so I put e plugs in the way the book said. That made it worse. My number 4 plug is miss firering and it looks dark when I pull it out. Do you know what might be causing this?

Can be a bad plug wire, bad fuel injector, or low engine compression. Start by testing the wire, then listen to the injectors, do they all click? Use a test light at the injector harness, see if they are firing. Last resort is the compression test.
