Hello,

We have a 1998 Iszuzu Rodeo 4 cylinder 2.2 litre engine that just had the head gasket replaced. After replacement, when you start the engine the RPM guage goes to over 6000 in the idle position. Obviously, the vehicle cannot even be left running like this and we are hoping that you might be able to help us out with what we can check to fix this problem. EGR, ECM fuse, throttle position, PCV??

Sounds like the idle air control valve needs cleaning and also test the throttle position sensor/inspect cable and linkage/throttle plate
