1) I'm trying to replace the thermostat on my son's Rodeo, but the thermostat appears to be in top of the engine block underneath a lot of engine gunk. Wow! The last time i replaced on of these they were right on top of the radiator. Advice?
2) The gear shift is often locked in park after starting the engine, unlocked while the engine is turned off. I took the plastic console off this assembly and the solenoid pushes out when the key is turned to "on", and relaxed when turned "off". This swings a plastic piece to prevent him from shifting into drive. the only easy fix I could see was to change the brake switch. No different.
