1996 Isuzu Rodeo Question Scan Code of P0420

Hey...


I have OBDII scan code of P0420 and I looked it up and has to deal with a low Bank 1 Cat Conveter.

What does this mean? Do you think its a Cat Coverter or an Oxy Sensor.

I would drive about 6 miles after I reset the light and it come back to P0420 each time.

The fault code is set due to the catalytic converters inability to properly perform its function. At 160k miles it needs to be proven to be faulty and condemned properly.

Thanks Dr Hagertry for a quick response and it turned out the catalytic converter was an OBD I type and I'm betting it was installed as a cheap and quick fix before the I bought it at an auction two years ago.

I replaced it with an aftermarket OBD II catalytic converter and my high NOX and the Check Engine light are gone.
