Got a 1995 rodeo blowing black smoke out the exhaust. Changed the plugs. Next was going to try the o2 sensor to see if that eliminated the problem. Does that sound about right or maybe the plug wires?

Maybe faulty Engine Coolant Temp sensor located rear engine in coolant manifold. OHM check cold @34000 ohms then let engine warm OHMS should drop. If not replaceECT
