My rodeo is blowing grey smoke out the exhaust. I didnt have this problem until replacing the ignition control module and ignition coil. At the same time I replaced the valve cover gasket on the driver side. Now the engine hesitates and blows black and grey smoke. What could be the cause?

Hello

Thanks for the info

Grey usually indicates brake fluid.

Since it just happened you may have a hose or check valve on backwards.

When you changed the valve covers did you disconnect the power brake unit vacuum hose? It has a one way check valve in it. Check the vacuum hose (with check valve) from power brake unit. Note installed direction for proper check valve operation (arrow on hose label faces engine).

Let me know

No I did not disconetc the vacum hose from the brake unit. I did disconnect the plugs from the fuel injectors to loosen the wiring harness. Also removed the throtle body and assosiated hoses

Hello

While I look at the manual please disconnect the brake booster hose at the manifold and check for brake fluid

Also check out the injector pulse kit from Auto Zone and ensure you are getting a good fire at each injector

Are any of the spark plugs wet with fuel indicating that cylinder is not firing
