1994 Isuzu Rodeo Question

My wife is looking at possibly purchasing this truck for $500. There's also a valve that is loose that needs to be tightened (causes LOUD knocking sound that comes and goes). Worth the effort? How expensive could tightening the valve be? Use of vehicle would be to get from "point A to point B" which would be about 10-15 miles a day.

Could be a valve lash adjustment or lifter leakdown problem. Its worth giving it try and see what happens-dunno about the cost of the repair it varies with location could be $70-$130.00 per hr labor-
