I have a 2003 Rodeo, 3.2L with 58K miles. It recently developed a slight engine noise that sounds like something is moving air (similar to an air compressor). It seems to be coming from the rear of the engine and is a little more noticable on the driver's side. No check engine light and otherwise it appears to run fine. Any ideas about what might be causing the noise?

Thanks

Sounds like it could be a small exhaust leak.Does it get a little louder if you accelerate hard? But you definitly want to have it taken care of, depending on where it is at it could effect mixture in the engine resulting in poor power and or mileage

I haven't noticed it getting louder when put under a load. Also, it seems to be less noticable as the engine warms up.
