98 Rodeo stuck in park!

HELP! My 98 Isuzu Rodeo [automatic] is stuck in park! I have tried jiggling the shifter, rocking the car, checked to make sure nothing is blocking the shifter, held the brake down for a minute and then tried to move it, tried to move it without touching the brake. It starts just fine and everything else seems to be working. HELP!

Hi. Sounds like your lock-out mechanism is not releasing when you press the brake pedal. If you listen closely while you push the brake pedal, you should hear an audible clicking noise coming from the shifter area but in your case you probably wont hear it. That's the lock-out mechanism releasing so you can move it from park. Never seen it but it's probably some type of electric solenoid. Good luck.
