I recently replaced my power steering pressure hose (it had a leak) Everything is all tight and no leaks, but when I turn the wheel, I hear a gridning noise and the steering wheel begins to vibrate a little. I am thinking it is air. The power steering fluid is completely full. Is there any reason why it would be making this kind of noise? The steering wheel turns with ease, and the pump and hoses all work. I am really confused about what it could be. Can someone let me know what they think it is? Thanks.

If you fluid is milkey and has bubbles your pump is cavitating with air. If not it may be a bad rack and pinion. Good luck

Thanks. I checked a book and it told me to bleed the system until there was no rubbing of the belts and the hose stays in place. If the hose bends then there is air in it. Strange, but ture. I bled it and it works great! For now anyway.
