89 isuzu clutch

i have an 89 isuzu troper 4cyl. my clutch is giving me problems.it is very difficult to shift, i an't even get into first gear, but when the car is off i can shift fine. i heard it might be the clutch master cyl. is this true?

Try pumping the clutch like the it is a brake pedal. If you can shift, replace the master and the slave. I always replace in pairs.

If that doesn't work you need a new clutch.
