I just got a 1999 isuzu rodeo. the check engine light came on and we had it read. the code said it was the Egr valve. we replaced the Egr valve and a day later the engine light came back on saying it was the Egr valve again.

Reset the ECU. Go someplace else to have the code read and make sure that it's coming up as something specfic, not just "Fuel System" or something. If you installed a new valve and it still comes up as a bad valve, replace it with a KNOWN good one and try again. If you still get a bad valve code, buy a manual and a multimeter and go step by step per the manual and work back from the EGR plug.
