1996 Other Isuzu Models cooling fan relay

A mechanic took out what I was told was the cooling fan relay. He ran a cord form under the hood to fuse box on iside. This is suppose to keep the car from running hot. It is a square fat black piece that came form the box under the hood. I can not find the part. Can you help me please

Sounds like he has wired up the fan to run all the time ! Any autoparts store will supply the relay. If that was the fault he could have just replaced it. I suspect there is another fault !
