1991 Other Isuzu Models 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

Engine will start and run for about 30 seconds, then it sputters and shuts off. Pulled hose going from carb to Charcoal canister and during the time the engine is running, fuel pumps out of this hose. What could be causing this issue?
