1990 Isuzu NPR battery

batteries died, have not used truck for over 6 months. bought new batteries and truck will not start, lights won't turn on, no juice at all. checked batteries, they are fine, battery cables are good, what else can it be or better yet what else can i troubleshoot before i get a pro involved... any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Double check the battery connections and do a voltage drop test -You sure you didn't blew a fusible link/s?
