Shift cable problems

I have a the above mention truck(2005 Isuzu Ascender) and my vehicle slipped into "reverse" when I parked my truck in my garage. It's stuck in "reverse". So I can't put it in "park" or start it. Any answers?

It sounds like the shift cable is broken which is common. I have included some images that will help you get it replaced.
