2004 Isuzu Ascender Fuel check valve leak

The check engine light is on and the dealer sya that the Fuel check valve is leaking. That the Gas tank must be replaced for $980.00. Is the check valve installed in the tank? or is the filler hose cracked and leaking requiring tank removal?

There is a Technical Service Bullitin on leaking check valve Isuzu will warranty for 10 yrs or 150K miles. Refer to TSB SBo7-02-202 applies to VINlast 7 digits starting 3210001 to 46119613.For more info call isuzu 1-800-255-6727 refer to TSB.
